I'm am doodle challenged. No joke, my doodles always seem to look like a kindergartener did them. But, it is such a cool technique and the look of it is awesome. So I am challenging you to create a layout with doodles.

In my example, I used a Chatterbox Doodle Genie to help aid me in my doodles.

TECH010 ~ Stamping with paint!

I love stamping. That's no secret. But, how about stamping with paint? I love this technique. Foam stamps lend themselves perfectly for this, but so do other household items. I've seen layouts when the designer stamped with paint using bubble wrap, empty toilet paper tubes and even the wheels of a toy truck. In my sample below, I used corrugated cardboard to stamp. So let's see what you can come up with using paint and an item from around the house.

My challenge this week is to use felt on your layout in some way. But, try not to use pre-made felt embellishments - make one yourself! I made the cupcake in my sample layout.

A lot of scrappers are intimidated by large photos because they do take up a lot of space on the page - leaving less space for journaling, titles and embellishing. So my challenge to you is to use a large photo on a layout - at least 8"x10".

Here's mine:

Use a transparency on your layout in a creative way!

Here's some ways I've used them in layouts

As an accent...

Paint behind it to highlight printed journaling...

To frame a focal point in a photo...

This technique is simple to do but sometimes hard to execute in the right way. White space is any negative (element free) space on a layout that adds to the overall design.

Here are my samples - now let's see what you've got!

This article gives you step by step instructions on how to make one.

So based on my SQOTD from a few days ago, it seems we have a lot of mini-album fans here. So with the upcoming holidays and gifts on the brain, my technique for you this week is to create a mini-album!

Here's one I created for my BFF for her birthday this year...

I went a little more complicated this week ~ this is a really fun technique.

1) Take a chipboard rectangle and size it down to the size of your photo.

2) Back the photo completely with adhesive using a Xyron machine (or just make sure it's completely coated with some sort of adhesive).

3) Draw a puzzle/mosaic design using pencil on one side of the chipboard. Be sure to number each piece in order to help you piece it back together later.

4) Flip the chipboard over and adhere the photo ...

I am starting with a simple one for the first technique challenge - and I am focusing on a scrapping supply I know everyone has in their stash....

WORD STICKERS!

My first technique challenge to you is to use word stickers in a creative way. Be sure to post your layout in the gallery and include the code TECH001 in your title. Here's a few from me using word stickers in different ways.

Create a frame with a bunch of word stickers:
