foul mouthed neighbors!
grrr! i just got back from confronting some young adults (very immature) that live two houses away from me (keeping in mind we are directly across from a large main park in our town). our neighborhood is usually quiet and most all of the neighbors take care of their homes so it's nice here. while sitting in our back family room enjoying a movie (cars, AGAIN!) with my little guy, i hear curse word after curse word coming into my window that i opened today to enjoy the fresh air. now, i'm no saint...i slip a bad word here or there but the choice of words and what these guys were saying and how loud they were pushed me to the limit. after 3-5 minutes of them going on and on i had had enough!
i noticed they were directing their language to an older single guy who lives behind me at an angle (it's a weird location for a house - basically it's the house betweens garage/turned house, lol). he's an odd fellow but has always been pleasant with us. i don't know about anyone else here but i am not shy...nor am i quiet when something isn't right! i walked outside (continuing to hear them loudly) and asked the 'older single guy' who was talking...he pointed toward the house that was two away. i walked stearnly around the curb and walked up to the guys and stated why i was there....
that i was enjoying quality time with my 3 yr old until their loud, foul mouths had my 3 yr old running to look out the window. now, there was a guy, probably in his late 20's, and an older teen, TWO toddlers (one kept saying hi and the other was running toward me out into the street as i approached) and the toddlers mother (i think she is with the older guy). they just peered at me as i walked up and as i started stating why i had to come out of my house and confront them the older guy just kept saying things under his breath to the guy across the street (the single man). i wasn't as mean as i wanted to be, nor did i care what their "problem" was...i just stated that i should NOT have to hear that coming into my windows TWO houses away!!!! grrrr! yanno what??? the TEEN said sorry....several times. but the two older "adults" sitting there....just looked away and commented to their toddlers about NOT talking to strangers!
the thing that gets me the most...their children had to listen to them acting like immature and RUDE people for no reason. then for them to mention ME as a stranger....PAHHHH LEEEZEEE....they have bigger issues to worry about.
i am most always the peace maker.....smile and wave, no matter what i think/feel...but this just hit me wrong today and i wanted to rip their mouths off! lol
thanks for letting me vent. really i'm not that mean.

OH dear!!!
I would be so mad too!!!!!
I can`t believe they let their toddler listen to this, they (the toddlers) must have been so afraid inside why their parents acted so angry shouting and cursing...
I`m shocked!!!!
Thank God for living out in the country with no close neighbors!!!!
And of course you can vent, sweetie! We are here for you!!!!
{needing a smilye hug here}

I feel sorry for kids who have perent's who swear, i mean i swear, but then i tell them its bad & wrong & then i say sorry, i try not too & i only swear when i get frustrated & angry with them, not in general conversation.
We get this alot here where i live too. Unfortunatly we cannot control other ppl's verbal content!

Re: foul mouthed neighbors!
I'm amazed that two grown people can act that way, and in front of young children??!! The only adult in that family seems to be the teenager!! Wow, they don't realize what kind of example they're setting for their young ones. Unfortunately, people like that are everywhere! No wonder we have so much violence in this world, when children growing up don't learn from their parents how to solve issues properly...
Re: foul mouthed neighbors!
Things like this are so maddening, don't you think? I mean, these people don't even care what they are teaching their kids! It's so sad...just how far will it deteriorate? I'm almost afraid to know!
I realize we can't all always get along...and I believe in 'to each his own', but there's also a simple important thing called 'respect'!
Where has it gone?
THANKFULLY we have it here, for sure!
Amy, glad you vented!! That's what friends are for, right? {{hugs}}

Re: foul mouthed neighbors!
thanks for all your kind words here. i felt way better just after i vented here. i always have to tell myself that "there are soooo many kinds of people in this world and we can't fix 'em all!"
i just hope those children grow up learning the real 'right and wrong'.

Re: foul mouthed neighbors!
You are a bigger person than I....who would have probably handled myself in a manner I would regret later.
