EMG

Ever had this test done? I have to have it done today, and after looking on the net, I'm a little scared! I'm sure I have sever carpal tunnel. About 4 years ago my wrist and hand started to bother me, it came and went. About 2 years ago it was to the point it didn't stop bothering me. Now the pain has moved up my arm and at time my hand swells and turns cold and purple in color. I need to get this figured out, but this test seems to be scary!!

It's funny you say that as i have had a niggling feeling i may have this too, but the beginning of it, like you described!!

it's next to nothing at the moment but at times i have to be careful on how i move my wrist's as if i move to fast it hurts like artheritise, i could have that too as it runs in the family.

But it's better to go checked out now than later, have you got the result's yet?

They were supposed to do both. It's an hour long test. BUT they called DF today and cancelled. Talk about mad!!! For 10 minutes he yelled at the lady who called. I felt sorry for her, kind of!! So, now I have another week to worry about it.

It's getting really bad. Now I have a spot under my eye, beside my nose that is all swollen. My regular doctor says it's nerve related.

Some days, it's so bad it about kills me to write, and now that it's all up my arm, some days I cry just putting on, taking off my shirt and coat.

DF thinks I'm dying! Isn't that nice?

Rose, make sure you take care of your hand so you don't go thru this!!

Well they have told me it might never be back to normal! so dread if the tendonitis flares up along with this,touching some wood here!

What exactly is an EMG?

Dont know, ive never had it? but i know it hurts!!!

It's a nerve test. From what I've seen online, they tape these things on an area of the body, my case the arm, and then they give you small shocks. That's the surface way. The inner is where they insert a needle into your muscle and then they send shocks to the needle, to your muscle.

Guess I'll know more NEXT wednesday!
