OMG I'm scared! LOL I believe the heart centers were ordered and should start arriving tomorrow. As far as decorators.... I'm about IT!! I am planning to work Mon-Sat for 2 weeks straight. One of the managers can decorate, but only if needed, and the other decorator only works Saturdays. I have NO idea what to expect!! The other thing that worries me is that the 1/2 of the machine that does chocolate has been working really poorly, and I feel like it's on it's last leg!! It sometimes takes twice as long to do blanks, because I have to stop and fix the machine inbetween each cake. UGH!! Any pics you have to share, I'd love to see! I've only decorated a couple heart cakes as santas, and one with flowers... so any ideas are more than welcome!!

Do you have the valentine copy cat cards?

The ones we do the most of is the I heart U letters. We also do alot of white roses with cherry cone dip drizzled on it.
Probably the easiest and best thing to do is go to a dollar store and buy a couple bags of those marshmallow hearts and a couple boxes on the little heart candy's. The little ones you put on the boarder and leave the cake blank. (for messages) the marshmallows you use in the place of roses. If you have a small writing tip, you can write on them. Let me see if I have any pictures from other years to post.

We have a contest with all the stores. One of these years my store is going to win!! lol...

But... we sell about 500.00 a day for a few days before and the day of... it's like a war zone!! Last year we had people waiting for us to decorate em!

I'm trying to talk my boss into letting us order some planks already made. We use the centers to, but they run out so quick!

I was told that I'll start making blanks in the two weeks before and get to use the other two freezers to store them in. I have lots of cards for tracing pics... not sure if they are what you are talking about though. No one has mentioned purchasing anything for decorating... may have to mention that. Like I said, I'm getting a little nervous... I'm not sure they are taking into consideration that I am virtually the ONLY decorator AND I have 1 vehicle and 4 children to think about... I can't work unlimited hours... KWIM??

Robin, we started buying the candies because they are cheap, you can get them at the dollar store, and it an quick easy way to decorate! They are get to have on the big day so you can decorate them as fast as your selling them. If you have the candies and run out of hearts, you can still use 8's and 10's and then if you don't need them you can take the candies off without much problem and redo the cake for a birthday!

I mentioned the candies to my mgr. & she said they usually get some too. Smile I'm a bit concerned, as she hasn't even ordered the heart centers yet, which means they won't come in until next Wednesday! So much a for a good head start!!

We only use the centers, unless someone orders the center without the fudge. I actually like them... makes my job much easier! Since I make most of the blanks, the easier the better for me! Smile

yeah, it probably will be a mess, but it'll be worth it! We did something like this once before and although we didn't get to many kids, the ones we did get we had a blast with. We also have a large mat we can put on the floor and then just dump and wipe it off.

The kids love being able to decorate their own cupcakes.
