AAAWWWWWW-Life is good

After 9 1/2 days without power, water, heat.....I have them all again as of 7:30 last night!!!!! I have never seen my kiddos so excited (even at Christmas) Now to get the house cleaned up and life back to normal!

So glad to hear that Holly! Where do you live do you mind me asking? And WHY did it take so long to fix the problem? We were out of power for just 4 hrs and we were going nuts, funny how much you realize how dependant you are on it when you don't have it!!!!! Glad its over for you! Cheers!

Western Kentucky.....We were hit with a record ICE storm that knocked over 700,000 homes out of power!!! Some will be out for up to a month! Over 12,000 power poles broke and have to be replaced!!!! President Obama has issued several desaster thingys to help with all the expenses! I am very fortunate to have my power back this soon!!!!

Wow Holly 9 days! I remember when I was younger we had to go stay in a hotel cause our place was so cold with the power out. It was so cld the dog's water froze!

Our coldest night during that 9 days was 3 degrees with a wind chill of 5 below.....the dog water was outside in a 5 gallon bucket and it froze solid......kind of sad....is nearly 70 today and she (our DOG) died last Monday....she was OLD and really in bad health...things the vet could not fix due to her age!

awww. sorry to hear about your furbaby.....but they do get old....I know Howie hasbeen having trouble jumping sometimes.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. To have that happen on top of being without power for SO LONG must have really hit hard. I can't believe you were stranded without power for those many days. I knew about the ice storms but had no idea it had been that bad. I can't imagine going that long. Did you have a wood fire?

Thanks gals...actually, we used our propane stove/oven to heat the kitchen and living room.....was okay until the propane started getting LOW!!!! I still have friends who are without power....the reports say some homes will be out until March!
