When: Monday, November 10, 2008
Note: ShortCuts (sheetloadshortcuts.blogspot.com) is looking for three (3) talented and fun paper crafters, who are able to showcase our products to their fullest, while thinking “outside of the box”. Enthusiasm for the product is a must, your attitude and creations will help bring more recognition to yourself, as well as ShortCuts.

International applicants welcome.

Timeline:

November 10: Deadline for Preliminary Submissions

November 17: Finalists will be contacted with a special challenge

November 30: Special challenge submissions due Wink

December 5: DT members will be announced

January 7, 2009: Deadline to post your first DT position creation to your blog

Because the winter holidays are coming up, please make sure you apply only if the deadlines above will work for you, and your schedule, should you be chosen as a finalist or DT member. Remember, there will be openings available in 2009 too.

Design Team Term: 6 Months (January - June 2009)

To Be Considered…

Email the the following to sheetload-shortcuts@comcast.net with “DT position” in the subject line.

- Link to your crafting blog. If you know your monthly/daily hit count and number of “subscribers/followers, that information is appreciated as well.

- Link to any other online galleries that show your creations

- Three of your favorite, personal, creations from the last 3 months (can either be links or attachments)

- An example of what your first 3-D/altered creation might be using ShortCuts products (description only – you don’t need to create anything new, yet).

- A short bio about yourself

- A few sentences on why you would like to design for ShortCuts

- A list of any other DTs you are on, as well as an estimate of how much time per month you can commit to ShortCuts

- Any papercrafting message boards you frequent, along with your username

- Your MAILING ADDRESS and EMAIL ADDRESS you will be using for your DT position communication

Please make sure to include answers/responses to each point above. Failure to do so, may result in disqualification.

General Design Team Rules:

- Must be an established blogger with at least 2 posts per week.

- Ability to follow instruction and adhere to deadlines is a MUST.

- Photographs/Scans of projects must be of a high quality. Any major glares, blemishes or blurriness should not appear on final image.
“Staging” of photos is preferred (ie: props/backgrounds, etc.)

Blog Posts:

- Must post a minimum of

o four (4) clear or frosted cards/GCHFs per month

o one (1) altered/3D project each month using ShortCuts products

o one (1) make-n-take/tutorial (can be of the 3-D project) per month that uses ShortCuts products in some way.

- Monthly creations can be made all at once, as long as they are spread throughout the month on your blog.

- There will be a challenge/theme each month and it must apply to at least one (1) of your creations

- Posts MUST link to the ShortCuts blog and online store.

- Occasionally artists will be asked to promote ShortCuts specials on their blog as well. Verbiage will usually be provided for these posts.

- Projects/creations must be approved by ShortCuts before posts are made. Submissions must be in at least one (1) week prior to their post date, for approval.

- Projects will also be featured on the ShortCuts blog with a link to DT members’ post that includes specifics about each piece.

- Must “wear” the ShortCuts blinkie on your blog in a prominent location. Adding it to your signatures on public message boards is encouraged.

Online Crafting Galleries: It is preferred that you share your creations on at least one (1) online paper crafting gallery and note in the info that you used ShortCuts products*. *As long as it does not violate any board TOUs.

Compensation:

- No monetary compensation will be given to artists besides the “publication bonus” mentioned below.

- Recognition on the ShortCuts blog with a link to DT members’ crafting blog.

- Artists will be provided with ShortCuts products to use, but will be required to use items from their own “stash” to decorate them; without reimbursement from ShortCuts.
Occasionally ShortCuts will provide special products to the DT for use on their monthly projects

- Each artist will be given a quarterly allotment of ShortCuts products (Clear & Frosted Card Blanks & Full Sheets, Gift Card Holder Folders, and any future products) to create their required pieces from. This should be enough to include extra for artists’ personal use..

- If the artist would like to purchase additional ShortCuts products, they will receive 50% off retail.

- For any Limited Time Offer Products (ie: items bought for resale on site) artists will receive 25% off retail.

Publication Bonus: For each piece a DT member submits that uses ShortCuts products, and is accepted for publication, in a papercrafting-related print publication (no online/digital eZines) they will receive $10 via PayPal (limit $20 per publication, per issue).
ShortCuts and the specific product used (GCHF, card blanks, full sheets, etc…) MUST be mentioned in the supply list.
Bonus will be given after the issue is out and DT member has submitted a scan/copy of the piece(s) in the publication, as well as the cover of the issue.

Other: Artist will own the creation and be given credit for the work, but ShortCuts will have the rights to publish online and offline for marketing, promotional purposes and other uses.
