Wish me luck!!
Becoz im needing all i can get!!!
My son#1 is disabled, when he was 5yrs old he was diagnoised with adhd & autism, but only statemented for adhd & medicated.
Today we see our GP, to agree to another screening, he knows nothing about us, he has no access to past history {our files} becoz they cannot go into another surgery's record's.
We moved here august 07 & we have never needed to see the dr before, im so nervous & worried, im going to natter & stutter, becoz these things make me nervous, so HOW in the bloodyhell am i meant to explain the last 5yrs of mikey's life to him??

Re: Wish me luck!!
Hi,
I highly recomend that you WRITE it out -- make a list of things that concern you and go through them with your doctor.
I have done this many a times with my son -- he has speech delays/ADHD/Sensory Integration Disorder, etc.... (he'll be 5 in October)
I go in and say " I have a LIST Of things I want to discuss -- #1...blah blah... #2...blah blah... and just go through the list.
My doctors have been GREAT about listening and they seem to like that I'm so prepared--
I wish you ALL the best!

Thank-you, i had alot of well wishes for our dr trip & it was only up half an hour before we left, lol.
But it all went well i did'nt need to explain EVERYTHING like i thought i would, & he agreed to the screening.
MORE good news, my dd isnt astmatic!!! she has seasonal viral something, a wierd medical word, but still needs an inhaler only for these cold month's though.

glad things went "smoothly" during your visit. hoping the testing brings solid answers for you all.
speaking of allergies and asthma...we are stumbling through the process of figuring out what my daughter has.....and how bad. she has terrible bouts of not being able to breath, being tired, spuratic feavers...it's frustrating.

My closest friend is gong thru the same things.....Her son is Autistic (4 years old) She gets so tired of repeating all the same stories when someone new is on the case!
Re: Wish me luck!!
I know how she feel's. im past that now, i dont care what ppl think im done explaining & mikey is old enough now to talk for himself, when we go to the dr, he does all the talking, lol.
Wonder where he gets that from.....

It is nice to know that other parents go through the same things as I do! My son is ADHD and I homeschool, he is ashmatic, and he has had many seizures. I know all about the waiting game or trying to look for answers or support!
