Do you ladies have the original Cricut or the Expression? I'm going to ask for some advice when I get more time to chat but I was having some "issues" with my Cricut the other day.

I have both the original and the expressions......I use them constantly! I Work for a sales rep and do all of her scrapping for examples and her personal scrapping......so usually I run both machines at the same time to get the job done faster! LOL

Okay so I have had the cricut for awhile and am embarassed to say that I rarely use it. Embarassed Embarassed I finally pulled it out again the other night to make my grandnephew a birthday card.
I used SU cardstock and tried to print out "Happy" and "Birthday" from the celebration cartridge and also balloons with little swirls in them.
I found that my paper was tearing on the intricate things so that the balloons and the word "birthday" were useless. I also have a hard time getting things off the sticky sheet. It makes me just want to put it in the closet. HELP!!! What am I doing wrong?? :geek: :geek:

You need the pressure set to high and the speed to LOW...and use the spatula tool to remove the cut items! Hope that helps.....if it doesn't work.....change the blade!

Thanks Holly I'll give that a try. I know that I have the pressure high but not sure about the speed. I've barely used it so the blade should be fine I would think.

JayZee, I found at first that I had to pay attention to the cutting speed, for how detailed my image/lettering was, and to the pressure setting in relation to the thickness of paper I was trying to cut. The manual helps A LOT! Or it did me anyway. Hope that helps. I still pull the manual out from time to time. But playing with it, on scraps, is the best way to figure out what works for you.
